Update: Both Melissa and Scott have made it through the Pool Round Robin phase and now are into the Championship Pool phase.

The Oakville Curling Club is proud to host the Ontario Men’s and Women’s Senior Provincial Championships, taking place March 11–15. We’re calling on our members and community to help us deliver an outstanding event!
For the month of November we had a contest if you purchased a Czechvar beer at the bar, you could put your name in the raffle for a Yeti Czechvar cooler. The winner is Anette Winslow. Congratulations Anette.

Watch for December promotion on Sleeman Clear draft. Winner will be drawn on December 28th for 2 tickets to the Leafs vs Panthers on January 6th.

As of December 3rd, the city has painted the parking lines and we have been informed that parking area of Wallace Park will be open this Friday the 5th. They will move their safety fence back to protect the tennis area but open the parking area so we can utilize and access via the Reynolds Street parking entrance. This will add 20 spots to our existing 48 and we can get to our accessible spots.
Yeahhhh. So watch for developments within the next week. Hopefully we can hold the city to their promise.

Dear Members,
We wish to inform you that the Reynolds Street access to the West Parking Lot at the Oakville Curling Club will be temporarily closed due to construction activities at Wallace Park Tennis Club.
The Town of Oakville has commenced renovations to the tennis club facilities and, as part of this project, has erected a construction fence along our property line. While we have requested an easement to maintain access via Reynolds Street, the Town has advised that periodic closures will be necessary as they complete various phases of their work.
At this time, crews are removing the existing fencing and base of the tennis courts, which requires full closure of the Reynolds Street entrance. Access to the West Parking Lot will therefore be restricted until this portion of the work is complete.
All access to the West Parking Lot will now be done through Wallace Park Lane. We continue to work closely with the Town to minimize disruption and will keep you abreast of developments as they happen.
The current timeline has paving of the entire tennis club and their portion of the parking lot that abuts our lot expected to be finalized by November 15th. While this date may prove somewhat optimistic, we will take them at their word for the time being.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this temporary inconvenience.
Warm regards,
Ian Tetley
Manager, Oakville Curling Club

In furtherance of community outreach and partnerships, the Oakville Curling Club (OCC) is thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with Sheridan College’s Faculty of Animation, Arts and Design (FAAD), recognized for its innovation, creativity, and artistic excellence, to establish the Oakville Curling Club Mural Design Challenge.
The challenge was opened to Sheridan FAAD students on December 11, 2023. The goal is to enrich the curling experience of the Oakville Curling Club members & visitors, and to further OCC’s community mission promoting student development by providing Sheridan FAAD students with a real-world experience and venue to showcase their talents.
Students (or teams of students) will compete to create a series of visually engaging artwork that incorporate important elements of curling and the Club's community-focused values & mission. The winning submission will be transferred to larger murals to be hung on four (4) selected arena wall sections within the ice shed. The winner(s) will receive a prize award and artistic credit displayed alongside the murals.
The Club is looking to establish a National Sports Trust Fund (NSTF) project that accepts corporate & member donations for this initiative. As with all NSTF projects, members will receive a tax receipt and the Club is pleased to announce that qualifying contributors will have their names appear as sponsors alongside the arena murals.
For more details, visit the Challenge’s web page.
The Bell will sound once at the nominal beginning of the draw.
Example 1: If you are in the middle of the sixth end and the first bell sounds, you can finish the 6th end and play the 7th end.
Example 2: If you are at the very end of the sixth end, once the hammer crosses the near T-line, you are now in the 7th end. If the first bell rings at this point, you may play the 7th and 8th ends. In this case, you need to complete the 7th end in 15 minutes before the final bell sounds.
