President’s Message | May 28

Dear OCC Members,

As we close out another incredible season at the Oakville Curling Club, I want to take a moment to reflect on what has been a truly remarkable year for our community. This past season, we saw tremendous growth, welcoming 1,000 winter members and 420 summer members—an achievement that speaks volumes about the passion and dedication of everyone who walks through our doors. Even more importantly, our club remains financially strong, ensuring that we can continue to provide the best experiences for all.

Looking ahead to the off-season, we will be hard at work making improvements to ensure our facility remains welcoming and accessible for everyone. Key projects include accessibility enhancements, drainage improvements on the north side of the building, and repaving of the west side parking lot, including lighting for safety and security—investments that will benefit us for years to come.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible efforts of our staff—Casey, Scott, and Ian—who have gone above and beyond to fulfill the needs of our membership, ensuring that our club runs smoothly.

Additionally, our convenors continue to organize successful leagues and introduce exciting new events, keeping our community engaged, entertained, and always looking forward to more.

Our instructor team has kept the membership turnstiles moving with our Learn to Curl programs. The new season will see the introduction of more clinics (yeah), something we know you have been requesting.

We should all be immensely proud of how far we’ve come. As we grow, we continue to set an example for other clubs, proving that a strong, passionate membership is the heart of any thriving organization.

Thank you all for being a part of this journey—we can't wait to see what’s next!

Greg Irwin
President, Oakville Curling Club
