Their Journeys

Scott’s team has been training feverishly competing in the KW Granite Classic Spiel and recently travelled to Halifax to compete in the Dave Jones Bonspiel at the brand-new Mayflower Curling Club in which they lost in the semifinals.

In preparation for the Nationals, Melissa and her team have been working closely with coach Wayne Middaugh. They competed in the KW Classic, and lost the semi at the Stroud Sleeman Spiel in October.

It is not every day that we Oakvillians get to cheer on our own at a Canadian Championship — an achievement we can all take pride in and celebrate together!

How You Can Help

Both teams need to cover all their own hotel, meals, and training costs. Any assistance you can provide will go a long way in helping them chase their dream of National gold!

About Scott & Melissa

Scott has been our Head Ice Technician for 28 years, delivering championship-quality ice season after season. He has also been a dedicated member of both our Men’s and Mixed Leagues.

Melissa has been a cornerstone of our Women’s and Mixed Leagues for the past 15 years. She was a driving force behind our Youth Summer Camp, inspiring the next generation of curlers.
