The Sunday Youth Curling Program will be open to all youth curlers aged 7-18, no experience required!
The program is run in two 10-week sessions for the U12 group (fall and winter, you are welcome to register for the full season too), and one full length season for the U15 and U18 participants.
Each Sunday session is made up of two main parts: the first half is instruction, followed by games in the second half. On-ice coaches guide athletes through activities focusing on that week's topic. Instruction will focus on technical skills, sportsmanship and etiquette, strategy, respect, and having fun. The lessons will be varied depending on the athletes ages and skill levels. Following an off-ice break to warm up and have a snack, the second half of the session is game-play. Coaches will be on the ice to support the athletes with their technical skills, as well as their communication and team dynamics skills. Teams will be selected each week. Athletes will be placed into teams to best support their athletic skills while building friendships.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand to change, warmup, and chat with your friends. If possible, allow the same time after each game to socialize with your team and opposition, in the spirit of curling tradition.
Participants will need:
As per Oakville Curling Club Policy, all participants under the age of 12 are required to wear a properly fitted and secured (as per the direction of the manufacturer) helmet certified by the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) in the curling rink. Curling, skating, hockey, snowboarding, skiing or other CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved helmets are all acceptable options. Other forms of headgear are not sufficient. We are following the recommendations supported by the National Canadian Curling governing body.
Regardless of knowledge or curling experience, there are ways for all parents and guardians to participate in the program! Our program is run entirely by amazing volunteers, and extra hands are always appreciated on and off the ice (snack table and hot chocolate stations, for example!) Instructor lessons will be offered to parents curious about helping on-ice, no curling experience required, just a positive attitude! The Youth Learn to Curl Programs will be divided into two age groupings and will run for four weeks. After successful completion of the Learn to Curl, the curlers will have the opportunity to join the Sunday Youth Curling League (space permitting). The Learn to Curl Programs are based on the newly released Curling Canada U12 and U18 LEARN TO CURL programs.
This program is focussed on the U15/U18 curler. It is geared towards curlers age 12 to 17.
“Curling Canada’s U18 Learn to Curl program is designed to introduce teens to the sport of curling. The objective is to have fun, increase physical activity, promote curling as a life-long recreational sport and provide competitive opportunities for participants who show interest and want to remain Competitive for Life. The program is based on Curling Canada’s Long Term Curler Development Framework.”
Each session is 1.5 hours in length and will include both on and off ice time. Helmets for this group are recommended, but not mandatory.
This program is focussed on the U12 (aka Little Rock Curler). It is geared towards curlers age 7 to 11.
“Curling Canada’s U12 Learn to Curl program is designed to introduce children to the sport of curling. The objective is to have fun, increase physical literacy with key fundamental movement skills (FMS), follow Curling Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework and begin sport specific techniques.”
Throughout the course of the program, the groups will be moving through circuits or stations to learn various aspects of curling. The focus is on FUN as well as learning the game. These sessions will be 1.5 hours in length.
HELMETS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS GROUP. As per Oakville Curling Club Policy, all participants are required to wear a properly fitted and secured (as per the direction of the manufacturer) helmet certified by the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) in the curling rink. Other forms of headgear are not sufficient. We are following the recommendations supported by the National Canadian Curling governing body.

This recreational adult open league is open to players of all skill levels!
It is a social league that is a great way to meet many fellow Club members in a league that promotes continued development. This league does not track wins and losses. The games are 8 ends and teams are encouraged to play at least 6 ends.
Teams are made in consideration of the position(s) each player has selected. Attempts are made to balance teams as best as possible. Teams will be reorganized after 5 weeks; four weeks will be regular game play followed by a fifth fun night - promoting a noncompetitive atmosphere, interesting challenges, and sometimes food!

This open league stresses “Curling Fun and Fellowship” and is open to all adult club members. Individual entry only. Teams are drawn by the convenor for each series (one before Christmas and another after).
The winning team from series 1 will face off against the winning team from series 2 in a one game playoff on the final day to determine the League Champion.

Note: Turkey Draw Dec 20, 2025
Open to retired men, the Senators curl on Tuesday and Friday in Oakville, and out-of-town on Mondays and Wednesdays.
League Convenor: Ken Westover
Be part of an exciting new league that puts novice and developing curlers together for a morning of fun and experiential learning. Don't be concerned about playing against an experienced team. This is for curlers that are new to the game and have curled less than 5 years.
This league encourages continued skills development, and therefore there are instructors on ice to assist in game guidance, tactical questions and help with game etiquette.
This is a non-competitive league, and we really want people to have fun. For this reason we determine winners each week, but we don’t track results for the season.
Teams are built by the league Convenor, and members may be rotated from time-to-time to balance teams and allow players to experience different positions. It’s preferred that members sign up as individuals or couples for this league. Teams wanting to join and play the season together, as four (4) players, should consider looking into ladder leagues such as The Weekend Mixed Ladder.
Draw time is Saturday at 11:30 am

Individual or team entry. Wednesday Night Women teams curl three 7-game round robin series. Draw times alternate weekly when there is a full 4 division roster. League games are played on either Tuesday or Thursday evening with an occasional Sunday evening draw. Teams compete throughout the season and progress through various levels depending on Win/Loss record. Teams and individuals can be entered in either league (not both). At year-end, both nights combine in a crossover playoff to determine an overall club champion.
