Program: L2C:  Family 
Description:
Have you been looking for an activity that you and your family can enjoy together?!
Curling is a fun, active, social, and strategic game that is appropriate for everyone from the ages of 8 to 108!
This program is specifically designed to introduce you and your family how to play.
Over the course of two sessions our certified instructors will guide you through an overview of the fundamentals of the sport.
At the completion of the program, you and your family can expect to have had an opportunty to have thrown your first few rocks, get some exercise, yell "HURRY HARD" and have a better understanding of what Curling is all about.
 
Already know you and your family will fall in the love with the sport?

Itinerary: Each week starts with off-ice activities for 30 minutes followed by 1.5 hours of on-ice activity.
Equipment:
Required:
- A clean pair of running shoes carried into the Club is MANDATORY
- Shoes must be free of any debris (such as dirt, sand, rocks, mud etc.)
- A CSA approved helmet is required for all Curlers 8-11 years of age and recommended for all other players.
- Warm Clothes that are easy to bend and stretch in (layers work best)
Optional:
- Mitts that have a grip on the palm
- Knee pads are also recommended
Membership:  Not Required - open to the public

Focus This program will help develop / refine your skills in a number of areas including:
  • Throwing and judging weight
  • Shot making - draws, taps, run-backs and take-outs
  • Improved line of delivery
  • Reading the ice
  • Angles
  • Strategy and game management
  • Speed of play, etiquette and positioning
  • Communications and Team dynamics
  • Basic delivery - reinforcement and application
  • Game play to practise skills from that day's lesson

Taught by certified instructors from our Instructors Program.

If you are aware of the sport, perhaps seen a game or two, heard people rave about how much fun it is and are curious to learn more about what it's all about, or even if you just need a refresher before joining a league, then this program is for you!

Our Women's L2C provides a comfortable, safe and welcoming atmosphere for anyone that identifies as a women. Our instructors provide safe and fun instruction for women of all abilities.
Duration: 6 weeks
Participants: New women adult curlers (18+) or anyone who needs a refresher course!

Designed for those that may have curled a number of years ago, took time off from the game and are now returning, those looking to get "the rust off", those that consider themselves novices, or players that while having curled already for a few years, have never had formal instruction and are looking to improve their skills and abilities before the curling season swings into high gear.

Target Audience: Maybe you curled a few years ago and are finally able to get back to curling on more regular basis, or perhaps you consider yourself a novice, having only curled for a year or two and are looking to brush up on your skills. Or perhaps you have been curling for a few years but never had formal instruction and feel that you want to improve your skills.
If any of these circumstances describe you, then this program is for you! This program is open to both the public and Club members.
Duration: 1 Day

Club members or those considering becoming members. (18+)
Sign up as an individual or with a few friends to play together.
Time: 10:00am - 3:00pm

Itinerary: 4-5 hours of intensive instruction with certified OCC instructors, individual and team skills-building, a fun game and lunch!

Priority given to Club members until July 1st.

Tailored to those curlers that have previously taken an 'Introduction to Curling' program, and those that have taken up the sport in the past few years and are ready to take your abilities to the next level. Topics include strategy, shot selection, weight judgement, communications, angles and game etiquette.

Target Audience You have a maximum of 3 years curling experience within the last 5 years. You are comfortable with your ability to participate in the game and play socially, you have taken the 'Introduction to Curling' program in the last 1-3 years or you feel you have the basics under control and are ready to "up your game" a notch, or simply want to learn more.
Duration Four weeks
