Well that's a wrap!
It was an action packed three days at our Mixed Championship Weekend 2026, graciously sponsored this year by Amenida/Trafalgar Lodge. We enjoyed:
- Lots of good food (thank you to Pizzaolio, Sobeys, Monastery Bakery, Swiss Chalet and to all of you for providing the yummy desserts!)
- Lots of good fun with special thanks to Dear Abbey and Orphan George for the Saturday evening entertainment...quite a vibe in the club that evening!
- And lots of good curling throughout the weekend!
My thanks go out to Ian and Casey, the bar staff, the ice crew and to Jan, Jane and Steve for helping pull the whole event together. As for the results, the first round produced quite a few upsets with Divisions A through F seeing the #1 seed knocked off by the #8 seed. The A Division final pitted multiple former champion Team McLaren against the #2 seed Team Foster and it was a thriller, coming down to a last rock draw for the win. So, with great respect to the recently retired Vic Rauter, I'll say "Make the final"... 5-4 (or was it 6-3?) for our newly crowned 2026 Weekend Mixed Club Champions...Team Foster!
