A Message from the General Manager

Ian TetleyI hope this letter finds all of you doing well and enjoying the awesome winter curling season! The club is on pace for a banner season with a house full of accomplishments.

Firstly, we recently got some amazing airtime during the Curling Day in Canada TV special aired on TSN during the Scotties.  How cool is that? It's fantastic to see our club and members Scott Cooke and Erin Flowers getting recognized on a national level for their hard work during the United We Curl event held here back in September. Kudos to each of you for your dedication and promotion of our club and the exceptional event!

Speaking of which, I want to express my admiration for everyone's contributions, as our club slides its way to full capacity. This is in large part due to our instructors' group, who have made themselves available, to lead our Try Curling day and our Learn to Curl programs. These programs have lifted our membership numbers from 600 in 2022 to 960 this season.  With a wide range of leagues for all levels, we are truly one of the best clubs around. It is such a pleasure to be a part of this community of passionate and committed curlers.

Our board, our president, and our committees have been hard at work bringing our club into compliance with respect to new ONCA legislation (updated bylaws and policies), AODA compliance (which will remove the barriers for people with disabilities to access our club) and working with the city on drainage issues and the future paving of our west parking lot. This is a big focus for our board as we navigate the waters of Ontario Trillium Fund grants and contractors. It is truly a wonderful sight to see our board volunteers selflessly working as a cohesive team to build a better and more successful club.

So, here's to many more years of success, camaraderie, and outstanding curling performances! Thank you all for being a part of our amazing club.
