Reminder on Personal Belongings and Club Security

Dear Members of the Oakville Curling Club,

We wanted to make you aware of an unfortunate incident that occurred at the club earlier this week. A couple of unauthorized individuals entered the building and took some credit cards from one locker that we are aware of.

We ask that everyone please take a moment to double-check their belongings—including wallets and personal items—to ensure nothing is missing. If you notice anything unusual, please let us know as soon as possible.

As a gentle reminder, we encourage all members to keep personal belongings securely locked up or take them with you onto the ice surface for safekeeping. Even those well-worn curling shoes and sentimental items deserve a little extra care.

We have been in contact with Halton Police and have provided high resolution video footage of the individuals entering and leaving the building. The timing aligns with the reported incident, and we are cooperating fully with their investigation.

In addition, we will be looking into upgrading the security of the locker rooms by installing keypads on both the men’s and women’s doors to help prevent similar incidents in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to keep the Oakville Curling Club a safe, welcoming place for everyone.

Warm regards,
Ian Tetley, General Manager
Oakville Curling Club
