Two Oakville teams have taken a huge step towards competing in the Canadian Club Championships. Team Cody Maus and Team Janet Murphy represented the Oakville Curling Club in the regional qualifying events at The Toronto Cricket, Skating & Curling Club and The Dixie Curling Clubs respectively.
Janet and her team of third Sarah Reid, second Jacquie Ramier and lead Victoria Swystun walked through their event winning three straight games against some stellar competition. Janet defeated Carol Berringer-Inwood in the final by a score of 7-2. Mary St. James will be joining the team in Brockville to assist with some sparing duties.
Cody and his team of third Bob Reid, second Aaron Johnson and super sub lead Greg Mcknight cruised their four games and defeated Team Anderson in the final by a score of 6-3.
Cody's normal third Doug Enright will rejoin the team for the provincial championships.
Both the Men's and the Women's Provincial Club Championships will take place on Oct 27th - 29th, 2023 in Brockville, Ontario.
