Summer Youth Camp

The Oakville Curling Club hosts Youth Curling Camps every year in August for kids between the ages of 9 – 16.

Our camps consist of fun, collaborative activities that enable new curlers to learn the sport and experienced curlers to practice and improve their skills.

We combine on-ice and outdoor activities to encourage teamwork, communication and fitness.

Timing: Early August. 5 day sessions (M-F). One or two sessions based on camper interest

Golf and Curl

Sponsored by Delmanor Glen Abbey, this event includes 9 holes of golf at a local course and 6 ends for curling at the Oakville Curling Club followed by a barbeque after curling. Open for up to 64 participants.

Stu Sells Oakville Tankard

The Oakville Curling Club is the home this World Curling Tour event. Typically held in early September, the event draws some of the top local and international teams.

To name just a few of the teams that will be participating: Brad Gushue, Sherry Middaugh, Glenn Howard, Cathy Overton-Clapham, David Murdoch, Anna Hasselborg, Reid Carruthers, Julie Hastings, Mark Kean, Jacqueline Harrison, John Epping and so many more.

U18 Oakville Optimist Cash Bonspiel

Kick off your season with this fun Bonspiel for U18 athletes!

This event is very popular and registration typically fills within a day. If you plan on registering please make sure you have your entire team selected as all team members must be listed for your registration to be accepted.

Men's Perdue

Shake off the rust and get in shape for the upcoming season. The Men's Perdue is named after one of our club's founding members - Gordon Perdue. It provides an opportunity to get some playing time in before the season starts.

Individual entry. Teams will be made up each evening based on registration.

Sore Muscle Bonspiel

Well named, no one plays in this bonspiel and does not feel those muscles which have not been consistently used since last spring. 

The Sore Muscle Bonspiel is a three day event at the start of the curling season.  Participants play three - eight end games with a catered lunch following the final game.

Memorial Bonspiel

This is a two day event hosted by the Day Ladies. On the first morning a light breakfast is available. Lunch on the final day is catered, which is always a big hit with the Day Ladies.

Participants play two - eight end games to determine a winner.

Little Rocks Bonspiel

This is a one draw classic points spiel (2 x 6 end games) For curlers between 6 - 12 years of age. Maximum 16 teams curling with regular rocks.  For experienced Little Rockers with a strong understanding of the game

Trim a Tree

The Trim a Tree is a Christmas fun charity bonspiel hosted by the Day Ladies. Activities include one - six end fun game, festive lunch and unique festive sweater/outfit recognition.

Turkey Draw

On a Saturday morning in December, this is a fun one 6 end game points based bonspiel with non-traditional curling scoring rules in each end of curling (eg. Scoring farthest from the pin). Each participant may also choose to participate in the cross ice draw to the button. Following the curling is a light lunch and prize ceremony. Players sign up as individuals and teams are randomly put together.

Family and Friends Bonspiel

This unique event is held over the Christmas break and allows family and friends of OCC members to experience curling in a fun and festive atmosphere. There are four draws over two days and the event is designed to accommodate a large number of inexperienced players who may be trying curling for the first time.

In addition to scoring points on the ice, teams competed for bonus points from several off-ice activities such as: submission of clever Team names, participating in a raucous Spoons Tournament, and guessing the number of candies in a jar, to name a few examples from the past.

New Year’s Eve (every other year)

This is a one day event. Activities include: curling (4 end game - optional), dinner, dancing, and a champagne toast at midnight. The committee chooses a theme for the event. Past event themes include: ‘Putting on the Ritz’; and ‘Ice & Dice New Years’. Curlers may sign up as individuals, couples, or as a complete team. As this is a fun curling event, we attempt to match up teams to make the game more enjoyable for all.

The ANNIE - an Invitational Bonspiel

The Annie is a two day Invitational bonspiel with two draws each day. Day 1 includes a breakfast buffer, team photo, lunch and dinner. Day 2 includes morning snacks, lunch and snacks after the final day. Finalists are piped onto the ice for the final draw.

 The Sportsman's Bonspiel

The Sportman's Bonspiel is the OCC’s premier men’s competitive bonspiel.

Lefthanders World Curling Championship

Every April, Oakville is home to the World's Lefthanders Curling Championship. The event draws lefthanded curlers (and those that want to be lefthanded for a weekend) from all over North America and Europe.

First played in 1974 (men) and 1980 (women), it has become a community of curlers with a common lefthanded bond between everyone.

The competition is layered in an event system, so any level of curler can come and enjoy the weekend. Individual lefties that want to come will be placed on a team – so come join the celebration of sinister!

Kurl 4 Kids

We’re a Pro-Am charity Bonspiel for adults, where celebrity skips – including Provincial, Canadian, World and Olympic Champions – curl with a team of amateur curlers. Since 1989, our passion for curling has helped kids in need.

It’s for the kids! 100% of the funds raised support kids in crisis through our two preferred charities – locally, the Oakville Hospital Foundation and nationally, the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.

In recent years we raised over 350,000 for the Oakville Hospital Foundation and over 2.5 million has been raised for four different Charities over the past 27 years. Quite simply, we’re all making a difference!

The ice is out and the club is closed for curling. This is our opportunity to maintain and upgrade our equipment as well as perform any renovations or improvements to our facility.

The Senators host an Annual Golf Tournament and Dinner in June. Come on out for a great day of fun, food and golf. No curling gear required!.
