Series 2 Signup is now available.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the Oakville Curling Club I would like to welcome everyone to another curling season.

Our registration numbers remain strong with many of our leagues at capacity. Conveners have worked hard with scheduling and team creation. If you have any questions with respect to a specific league, please feel free to contact your respective convener.

On that note, we are still looking for players for the Monday Evening Open League. If you are interested in playing Monday evenings, even if for only a series, please contact the Club office.

A couple of changes that occurred over the summer:

  • A new low emissivity ceiling was installed in the arena.  It will provide energy savings by reducing the heat penetration from our roof to the ice (preventing approximately 97% of the heat from penetrating the barrier).
  • We also have a new Point of Sales (POS) system at our bar.  This allows us to better manage our bar sales and pricing.  While there has been an increase in bar prices as mentioned at the AGM, we are also able to ‘reduce’ prices for some drinks in the liquor section and will look to offer reduced prices in other categories (beer and wine) where possible.
  • A new Ontario law (Rowan’s Law) effective July 1, 2019 (re concussion awareness) that requires all participants (in our case curlers) under 26 (including members, guests, bonspiel participants, rental participants, etc) and their coaches and instructors to sign new documents regarding concussion awareness. If we can have members cooperation in making sure appropriate documents are completed, it would greatly be appreciated.

Volunteers always wanted (help is always appreciated for any of the volunteer activities):

  • Bingo volunteers - if anyone is interested in volunteering to help with bingo (training is provided), then please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The Oakville Curling Club volunteers typically on the first Tuesday each month from 6:30 – 9:00pm with 2 club representatives each date.
  • Club Bonspiels – are you participating in a club bonspiel and would like to assist or even run the bonspiel? This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.and we can provide you with necessary information or put you in touch with the bonspiel coordinator.
  • Other – if you would like to volunteer to help with anything else around the club, please contact the office.

We continue to look for ways to improve the club. If you have any suggestions, please let us know.

Have a great curling season, but most importantly, have fun!
