Dorothy Brockbank donates family pin collection

Dorothy Brockbank donated her parent’s pins to the Oakville Curling Club and I created a display of them for the club. I organized them by area and found that the majority were from Ontario and Scotland so I painted Ontario and Scotland on the background and attached the pins. Pins from the States are below Ontario and Western Canada is on the left and Eastern Canada on the right. Elsewhere in the world is below Scotland.

The event was enjoyed by all who attended and we saw a number of exciting games. In addition, the Man of the Year award was announced, and this year's winner is Grant Clark for his long-time contribution to the club through his stellar efforts running the Sportsman bonspiel, helping new curlers learn the game, etc.

Senior Men Club Champions

Team.Leier.SeniorsTeam Leier, {Skip Dan Leier, Vice David Feldstein, 2nd Doug Pole, lead Bob Macdonald and all round fifth man Donny Morris} won the 2017 OCC Senior Men’s Club Championship on April 13, 2017. Team Leier finished the season A1 and followed that up by winning a tough game against Team Sammons on the last rock of the 8th end to take the championship. The team would like to thank the conveners for their hard work and our fellow senior men curlers for a great season of competitive curling on the ice and {just as important}, the camaraderie off the ice.
