The Oakville Senators Curling Season came to an abrupt end on Friday March 13 out of concerns for public safety due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Epidemic.
The Annual Senators Curlers Closing Lunch Event planned for Friday April 17 was cancelled.
Leo Topolniski got the ball rolling when he made a recommendation to me by email for the Senators to make a donation to a needy cause from moneys not spent for the cancelled Closing Lunch.
The Oakville Senators Curlers will donate $5000 from the meat price money collected during the season set aside for the Closing Lunch Event to Food4Kids. The donation will be divided equality between Food4Kids Halton and Food4Kids Mississauga receiving $2500 each. We are proud to assist in the Food4Kids Mission: “To provide healthy food for children from at-risk, low-income or disadvantaged homes with limited or no food during weekend periods or during the summer months.”
Arrangements have been made for Gayle Kabbash of Food4Kids Halton and Nancy Guzzo Food4Kids Mississauga to receive their donation from our treasurer Ron Grey.
All the Best Tom Wienhold & Ron Grey
