We're Back! - Feb 9 Update

As a result of the continued positive trend in the pandemic landscape, we are excited to announce some Club Covid restrictions are being relaxed.

Masking

As of Wednesday, February 9th, masks are optional while in the rink. You are no longer required to be masked while sweeping with 2 sweepers, but we encourage you to wear a good quality respirator mask as much as possible while in the Club.

Distancing is still required while curling when possible, and masks are required until you arrive at your sheet and can safely distance from other players.

Reopening the Bar

We've heard you and are excited to announce that the bar will reopen on Monday, February 14th! While our capacity is still capped at 50% until at least February 21st, we will be working with individual leagues where capacity might be an issue to ensure that the Club remains in compliance with any and all provincial and municipal regulations and by-laws.

A reminder that masks are required in all warm areas of the Club unless seated at a designated table and only while eating or drinking.

January 25, 2022

We are excited to welcome you back to curling after an extended holiday break. Curling resumes on Monday, January 31st! The season has been extended by one week to Saturday, April 30th.

In this first phase of the provincial reopening framework, we're getting back to regular curling, but due to capacity restraints in the club, the bar will be closed until February 21stor when the province moves into Phase 2 of the reopening, whichever comes first.

There are a few small changes to the club's health and safety protocols. Notably, while masking is generally still optional in the rink, masks are now required if sweeping with 2 sweepers. Teams may choose to sweep with 2 masked sweepers, or engage a single sweeper, who has the option to remove their mask. The non-active sweeper may walk along the path of the stone, provided that they maintain a 2m+ distance from the active sweeper.

At this time, 3rd doses are not required to participate in club activities. We will be closely following the provincial government’s progress on 3rd dose roll-out and guidance on the definition of "fully vaccinated," with at this time means two doses. We strongly encourage all members to get their 3rd dose as soon as possible.
