OCC will be Reopening Jan 31!

Vaccination Proof and Verification

We hope you are enjoying your long weekend. This note is to inform you of an update to our COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

As of Tuesday, September 7th, The Oakville Curling Club will require anyone who enters the facility to show proof of being fully vaccinated (2nd dose administered by September 7th). Individuals with 2 doses who received their second dose fewer than 14 days prior to coming to the Club are required to comply with stricter health and safety protocols, including mandatory masking while curling. Individuals who are unvaccinated or have only received one dose are not permitted to enter the Club as of September 7th.

This policy is in line with the province's new proof of vaccination requirement that comes into effect on September 22nd, and ensures that everyone who enters the Club will be fully vaccinated (2 doses + 14 days) by that date. If you receive your 2nd dose between September 7th and September 22nd, you must wait until your 2-week waiting period is complete before coming to the Club. The Club is instituting this policy early to ensure the safest possible environment for curlers and staff.

This policy applies to curlers, team personnel, staff, contractors, spectators, volunteers, and all other visitors. Individuals with a medical exemption (doctor's note required) and children under 12 are exempt from this policy. Exempt individuals who are not fully vaccinated are required to comply with a stricter set of health and safety protocols.

In order to reduce the administrative burden on Club staff to verify participants' vaccination status, we are asking you to show your proof of vaccination only once, rather than every time you enter the Club. You can verify your vaccination status with us in one of two ways:

  1. In person
    1. Bring a paper or digital copy of a receipt or other document clearly showing your full name and the date of administration of a 2nd dose. You can verify your information with a member of Club Management or other staff. We will not be keeping copies of these documents on site.
  2. By email
    1. Send a pdf or jpg/png copy of a receipt for your 2nd dose, clearly showing your name and the date of administration to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Summer League and Bonspiel teams are encouraged to send the entire team's proof in a single email prior to their next game or event.
    2. This email address will be monitored by Club Management; no other staff or directors will have access to this account. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of this account. If you are uncomfortable sending your proof of vaccination by email, please bring a paper or digital copy with you to the Club instead.

Refunds will be issued as necessary to people who can no longer participate in Club activities. Please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to request your refund.

  • Summer League and Learn-to-Curl participants who are no longer able to participate due to their vaccination status will be issued a pro-rated refund
  • Individuals with practice ice bookings who are no longer able to use them due to their vaccination status will be issued a full refund

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate the ever-changing pandemic landscape. If you have any questions about this policy, please This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
