The Board of Directors is pleased to announce that we are proceeding with the opening of the curling club. The Ministry of Health is permitting sporting clubs to open, and our Return to Play Guidelines are based on Curl ON recommendations. That being said, we rely on our members to share the responsibility to keep themselves and their fellow members safe. Please wear your mask at all times. Masks have been proven to slow the spread of COVID19, do your part and wear yours. A quick Google search will reveal a multitude of mask options that can be worn during athletic activity. Do not come to the club if you are sick, suspect you may be sick or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID19.
We will be closely monitoring who comes into the club. There may be an App for contact tracing, or we may ask each skip to provide the names of each member of their team, every time you play. This is a requirement by the Government of Ontario.
We will continue to monitor the recommendations and guidelines from the Ministry of Health and other government organizations. There may be circumstances beyond our control which require us to close the curling club at any point during the season. We will endeavour to do our best to be fair to the members but we must also ensure the club stays financially viable for years to come.
Please be aware, the bar service is temporarily suspended as the Board determines the best way to minimize the possible risk of transmission to staff and members. The Board is working hard to resume services as soon as it is safe; please allow us the time to do so.
Thank you to all who are supporting the club this year. Every membership, every Pandemic membership, every letter of support, means so much to the club and to the Board, and we are extremely grateful to each and every one of you. We look forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks!
